Manual Accounts & treasury
The Account overview screen gives a consolidated view of the company's entire treasury: each bank account or cash account, its actual balance, its theoretical balance, its currency, its RIB and the date of its last update.
Overview
A company account represents a place through which the company's money flows: a bank account (BIAT, Attijari Bank, UIB…) or a cash account. Each account has an actual balance automatically fed by business operations (sales collections, purchase payments, salaries…) and by manual movements (top-up, withdrawal, transfer). The Account overview screen aggregates these balances to give the company's overall treasury position.
Business goal
- Centralize all bank accounts & cash accounts
- Know the available treasury in real time
- Compare actual balance and theoretical balance
- Keep the RIB on hand for reconciliation
Target audience
- Treasurer / finance officer — manages the treasury
- Accounting — reconciles and files returns
- Management — monitors financial health
Position in the Finance module
This screen is the entry point for the treasury. Each account is then detailed through its movements journal, reconciled via settlements & reconciliations and projected in the payment schedules.
Access and navigation
Left-hand side menu: Finance → Account overview.
Creating / editing / deleting accounts is done from Settings → Company accounts. The Finance submenu mainly exposes viewing and steering the treasury.
Account overview
The page displays summary cards (total treasury, banks, cash, currency), then the detailed list. The Movement button opens the top-up / withdrawal / transfer window (detailed in Movements & history).

Account characteristics
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Label | Name of the account (e.g. BIAT — Current account, Main cash account). |
| Bank account | Yes = bank (RIB, reconciliation possible) · No = cash / non-bank account. |
| Foreign currency account | If Yes, the balance is kept in the chosen currency (otherwise in TND). |
| Bank & RIB | Filled in for bank accounts; used for reconciliation and shown on documents. |
| Actual balance | Available treasury, updated with every movement (green if positive, red if negative). |
| Theoretical balance | Balance derived from expected entries; compared with the actual balance, it reveals the account variance. |
| Last movement | Date of the last transaction recorded on the account. |
Fixed account mode
The bank flag and the currency are set at creation. Change them with caution once movements have been recorded, to preserve the consistency of the balances.
Account types
Bank account
Account opened at a bank (BIAT, Attijari Bank, UIB, BNA…). Carries a RIB, a bank, and takes part in bank reconciliation.
- Reconcilable movements (green/orange marker)
- May incur overdraft charges and bank fees
- Credited by cash deposits, cheque lodgements, wire transfers
Cash / non-bank account
A cash account, or an account held outside a bank. Not subject to reconciliation (grey marker in the journal).
- Cash top-up / withdrawal
- Transfer to the bank (deposit)
- Cash collections from sales / deliveries
Create / configure an account
From Settings → Company accounts → New. Enter the label, check whether it is a bank account and/or a foreign currency account, then choose the bank, the RIB and the currency.
The opening balance entered at creation initializes the actual balance; subsequent movements adjust it automatically. For Tunisian bank accounts, the RIB is made up of 20 digits (bank code, branch code, account number, RIB key).
Actual balance vs theoretical balance
Actual balance
Treasury actually recorded on the account, recalculated with every collection, disbursement or manual movement.
Theoretical balance
Balance expected based on planned entries / pending items. Used as a reference to detect a variance.
Account variance
Variance = Theoretical balance − Actual balance. A non-zero variance signals unrecorded overdraft charges, forgotten bank fees, or movements not yet reconciled against the statement. See Settlements & reconciliations.
Foreign currency accounts
An account with Foreign currency = Yes keeps its balance in the chosen currency (Euro, Dollar…) rather than in Tunisian Dinar. The currency is shown in the dedicated column and as a superscript on the amount (e.g. 8,600.000EUR).
| Account | Currency | Balance display |
|---|---|---|
| BIAT — Current account | Tunisian Dinar | 184,320.000 TND |
| UIB — EUR account | Euro | 8,600.000 EUR |
Cross-currency transfer — for a transfer between two accounts in different currencies, the amount is entered for each currency (source and destination) to reflect the rate applied by the bank.

Business rules
Automatic balance — the actual balance of each account is recalculated in real time with every operation; the date of the last movement is updated.
Consolidated treasury — the "Total treasury" card adds up the balances of accounts in TND; foreign currency accounts are shown separately to avoid adding up mismatched currencies.
RIB & bank required for a bank account — they are required for reconciliation and deposit slips.
Risky deletion — an account linked to movements should not be deleted (loss of traceability). Deactivate it instead.

FAQ & Tips
My actual balance doesn't match the statement?
Reconcile the movements via settlements & reconciliations and check for unrecorded overdraft charges / bank fees.
How can I see an account's detail?
Click the magnifying glass on the row: this opens the movements journal filtered to that account.
Tip — one account per bank
Create a separate account for each bank (BIAT, Attijari, UIB) and one cash account per point of sale: reconciliation and the account variance become much clearer.
