Manual Customers by seller
This screen defines the portfolio of each field seller: customers (or customer groups) are attached to a seller. This is the basis for splitting into areas — on mobile, each seller only sees the customers assigned to them.
Overview
Before any route, you need to know which seller handles which customers. The Customers by seller screen builds these assignments: a seller is given an area (a set of customers, directly or via a customer group). This portfolio then feeds visit planning and what the seller sees on their mobile.
Business goal
- Assign customers to a seller
- Manage areas via customer groups
- Partition the field by seller
- Feed routes & reports
Target audience
- Sales supervisor — splits the areas
- Area manager — balances the portfolios
- Field seller — visits their portfolio
Position within the module
This is the module's organizational foundation: it comes before Planning and determines what flows into Sales reports. Module overview: Van Sales module.
Access and navigation
Left-hand side menu: Van Sales → Customers by seller.
This screen is based on the clientsParVendeur page. Customer groups are managed on the Customers reference-data side; they are reused here to assign an area in a single action.
List of assignments
The page lists the assignments: each field seller corresponds to a customer group (area). One row = one area entrusted to a seller.

Group or customers: two approaches
Assigning by group covers an entire area in one action and stays up to date as the group evolves. Assigning individual customers gives fine-grained control, customer by customer.
Areas & portfolio
Splitting areas well means balancing the workload between sellers and limiting travel. A few useful principles.
Balance
Distribute a comparable number of customers per seller.
Group geographically
A coherent area reduces travel time.
Readjust
Evolve assignments based on the reports.
Improvement loop — analyze the reports (sales rate by area) then readjust the portfolios here to optimize coverage.
Mobile sync
Assignments flow down to Swifto Seller: on their device, each seller only finds their own customers. They take orders, sell, and log visits only within their portfolio.

Business rules
Visibility = assignment — on mobile, a seller only sees the customers assigned to them here. Without an assignment, there is no customer in their route.
Living group — assigning by group keeps the area up to date: a customer added to the group automatically joins the seller's portfolio.
Basis for routes — planning only offers the customers in the selected seller's portfolio.
No counterproductive duplication — assigning the same customer to two sellers blurs sales accountability; keep one area = one seller as much as possible.

FAQ & Tips
A customer doesn't appear in a seller's route?
They are not assigned to this seller (neither directly, nor via their group). Attach them here, then resync the mobile app.
How do I transfer an area to another seller?
Delete the outgoing seller's assignment and create a new one for the incoming seller with the same group.
Tip — start from the groups
First build good customer groups (by zone): assigning and reorganizing areas then becomes immediate in planning.
