Manual Locations & Warehouses
Locations pinpoint the geographic position of your stocks (governorate, delegation), while warehouses organize physical storage (stock, category / item, capacity). Together, they structure the company's logistics.
Overview
Swifto distinguishes two levels of location. The location answers the question "where, geographically?" (governorate / delegation), while the warehouse answers "where, inside the building?" (aisle, zone, shelf…) with a capacity and a link to a stock and to a category / an item.
Location
Geographic location of a physical stock: store, depot, logistics point.
Fields: Label, Governorate, Delegation.
Warehouse
Storage zone inside a location, dedicated to a category or an item.
Fields: Label, Stock, Location, Category / Item, Capacity.
Position within the Stock module
Locations and warehouses are logistics reference tables. They are the target of issue notes, transfers, and the return flow of return notes. Module overview: Stock module.
Access and navigation
Left-hand side menu: Stock → Locations or Warehouses.
List of locations
The screen lists the company's locations along with their Tunisian administrative location (governorate then delegation).

List columns

| Label | Name of the location (e.g. Central Store, North Depot). |
| Governorate | Tunisian governorate the location belongs to. |
| Delegation | Delegation within the selected governorate. |
Create a location
Click New. Enter the label, choose the governorate then the delegation (list dependent on the governorate).
The delegation filters automatically according to the chosen governorate: select the governorate first.
List of warehouses
The screen lists the warehouses (storage zones) with their associated stock, their location, the targeted category / item and their capacity.

Create a warehouse
Click New. Link the zone to a stock and a location, target a category or an item, and set the capacity.
You can target either an entire category, or a specific item for a highly specialized zone (e.g. sensitive products).
Capacity & organization
The capacity of a warehouse caps the volume the zone can hold. Combined with category / item targeting, it helps organize storage and anticipate saturation.
Capacity
Maximum volume of the zone (in units).
Category
Family of items assigned to the zone.
Item
Specific item for a dedicated zone.
Good practice · one zone = one location + one stock + one category (or item) + one capacity. The finer the breakdown, the faster stocktaking and picking become.

Logistics hierarchy
The organization nests from the broadest (location) to the finest (warehouse zone), serving the stock and its movements.

Business rules
Dependent delegation — the list of delegations is conditioned by the governorate chosen for the location.
Linked warehouse — a warehouse always references a stock and a location; it targets a category or an item.
Indicative capacity — the capacity helps steer storage management; it reflects the target volume of the zone.
Stable reference tables — locations and warehouses change little: define them properly once, and they then serve every subsequent movement.

Usage scenarios
Opening a new depot
Creation of a location "North Depot" (Tunis / La Marsa), then of several warehouses (zones) linked to this depot and its stock.
Cold zone for perishables
A "Cold zone" warehouse with a capacity of 300 targets the Food & beverage category; items managed by batch + expiry date are stored and tracked there (see batch / expiry date rules).
FAQ & Tips
The delegation isn't showing?
First select the governorate: the list of delegations depends on it.
Do I need to create a warehouse per item?
No: target a category instead. Reserve targeting by item for sensitive or bulky products.
Tip — name zones clearly
Adopt a convention (Aisle A, Bay 3…): a descriptive label speeds up picking and stocktaking.
