POS Register Manual
The POS Register is a physical sales terminal declared from the back office: label (register code), numeric password, print type and authorized sellers. The cashier then logs in via the Swifto POS mobile app, which pairs the device by its IMEI.
Overview
A cash register (point of sale / POS) is a counter sales terminal operated by a cashier. In Swifto, you declare each cash register from the back office, then the cashier logs in from the Swifto POS mobile app using the register code (= label) and a numeric password. On first login, the device is paired to the cash register (its IMEI is stored).
Independent module. Cash register management (POS, in-store counter sales) is distinct from field sales (field sellers / routes). A POS is attached to a fixed point of sale and to its own register stock.
Business goal
- Declare each cash register terminal
- Secure access (code + password + IMEI)
- Define the print settings and authorized sellers
- Prepare the terminal for the Swifto POS app
Target audience
- Point of sale manager — declares and configures the cash registers
- Cashiers — log in from the mobile app
- Administrator — deletes / resets
Position in the cycle
The cash register is the starting point: once declared, you open register sessions on it, process payments received and return notes, all synced via the Swifto POS app.
Access and navigation
Left-hand side menu: Point of sale → Cash registers. The page lists all the cash registers declared for your company.
Access to cash registers is governed by the GCaissePVT privilege (POS cash register management) — see the matrix in section 11.
List of cash registers
The page displays the declared terminals (IMEI, label, date, description). Each row opens the cash register's details.

Action bar
New
Opens the cash register creation form (section 5).
Reset password
Assigns a new numeric code (≥ 4 digits) to the ticked cash register.
Reset IMEI
Releases the paired device so the cash register can be reconnected to a new terminal (section 8).
Delete
Logical deletion (the cash register is hidden, never erased). Blocked if sellers are attached to it.
Create a cash register
Click New. Fill in the label (register code), the password, the print type, the authorized sellers and a description, then save: Swifto automatically creates the cash register's POS stock.
Cash register fields
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Label * | Unique code of the cash register. No spaces (used as the register code for mobile login). E.g. CAISSE-MENZAH1. |
| Password * | Numeric, 8 digits maximum (default 1234). Entered by the cashier in the app. |
| Print type | Receipt format: A4, Ticket, Large-format ticket, Bixolon or Goojprt (section 6). |
| Sellers | List of sellers authorized on this terminal — selected via pick-list (section 7). |
| Description | Free-form note (location, specifics). |
| IMEI | Filled in automatically upon pairing; 000000000000000000 while the cash register is free. |
No spaces & unique label — the register code cannot contain spaces (message "This field must not contain spaces") and must be unique within the company.
Print types
The print type determines the format of the receipt issued after each sale. It is synced to the mobile app on login.
| Type | Recommended use |
|---|---|
| A4 | Standard-format invoice, office printer — customers requiring an A4 invoice. |
| Ticket | Thermal counter printer (common use). |
| Large-format ticket | Wide ticket for detailed receipts. |
| Bixolon | Bixolon-brand printer (dedicated driver). |
| Goojprt | Goojprt-brand printer (dedicated driver). |
Tip
Choose Ticket for a thermal counter printer, or A4 if your customers request a standard invoice. Bixolon / Goojprt target specific printer models.
Attached sellers
You select the sellers (cash register users) authorized to operate the terminal via a pick-list. Each attached seller is automatically created as a "Register Seller" customer, which ensures sales traceability by operator.
Authorized sellers — CAISSE-MENZAH1

Selected
Sellers = cash register customers — each attached seller becomes a "Register Seller" customer. A cash register with sellers attached cannot be deleted directly.
IMEI pairing & resets
On the first mobile login, the device's IMEI is linked to the cash register: it can then only log in from that phone. Changing devices requires an IMEI reset which sets the field back to 000000000000000000 (cash register free again).
Reset password
Assigns a new numeric code (≥ 4 digits) to the selected cash register.
Reset IMEI
Releases the paired device (IMEI → 000000…) to reconnect the cash register to a new terminal.
IMEI reset delay
Resetting the device is only possible after an 8-hour delay from the last reset (device anti-fraud security).

Business rules
No spaces & unique label — the register code cannot contain spaces and must be unique within the company (it serves as the mobile login identifier).
IMEI pairing — a paired cash register only logs in from its own device. Changing devices requires an IMEI reset (8h minimum delay).
Automatic POS stock — each cash register has its own register-type stock, created upon declaration.
Sellers = cash register customers — each attached seller is created as a "Register Seller" customer for sales traceability by operator.
Controlled deletion — a cash register with sellers attached cannot be deleted directly; deletion is logical (cash register hidden, never physically erased).
Subscription cap — the number of cash registers you can create may be limited by your Swifto subscription plan; a message blocks creation beyond the quota.

FAQ & Tips
"This field must not contain spaces"?
The cash register's label contains a space. Use a hyphen or an underscore (e.g. CAISSE-MENZAH1).
The cashier can no longer log in?
The device is probably paired to another phone. Perform an IMEI reset (8h delay), then reconnect.
"Number of cash registers reached"?
Your subscription plan limits the number of cash registers. Contact Swifto to increase the quota.
Tip — default password
The default password 1234 should be changed as soon as the cash register is put into service, via Reset password.
