Manual Real-time GPS tracking
View the real-time geographic position of vehicles equipped with a GPS unit on a map, check the trip history, track routes and, depending on the equipment, trigger the remote shutdown of the engine.
Overview
When a vehicle is equipped with a GPS unit (the Unit ID field on the vehicle record), Swifto displays its real-time position on a map. Two views: the fleet's real-time geolocation (TempsReelGPS) and the trip history (TrackingGPS). Advanced options include route tracking and remote shutdown of the engine.

Depends on hardware
GPS tracking is only available for vehicles carrying a GPS unit with a Unit ID entered. Without hardware, there is no geolocation.
Access and navigation
Left-hand side menu: GPS tracking (icon ). It gives access to the real-time map and to the trip history.
Fleet map
The map displays a pin for each geolocated vehicle, with its plate number and status color. An inset summarizes the fleet online.

Each pin is colored according to the status reported by the GPS unit.

| Stopped | Orange | The vehicle is stationary, GPS unit active. |
| Selected | Blue | Vehicle highlighted on the map. |
The "Fleet online" inset continuously counts vehicles moving and stopped — an immediate overview of activity.
Remote shutdown
Depending on the GPS unit's capabilities, Swifto offers a remote shutdown option for the engine — useful in case of theft or unauthorized use.
Sensitive action — remote shutdown is only available if the GPS unit supports it and remains restricted to authorized profiles. Use only in a security context (theft, immobilization).
Trip history
The Trip history view (TrackingGPS) replays a vehicle's route over a period: trip trace, stops and timestamped passages.

GPS tracking depends on the hardware equipment and the vehicle record's configuration.

Without a GPS unit or a Unit ID entered, the vehicle does not appear on the map. Enter it in the vehicle record.

Business rules
Conditional GPS — real-time tracking is only active if the vehicle carries a GPS unit with a Unit ID entered.
History retained — reported positions feed the trip history, viewable over a given period.
Controlled remote shutdown — available only if the GPS unit supports it and restricted to authorized profiles; security use only.
Depends on coverage — a position may be temporarily unavailable if the GPS unit loses signal (tunnel, dead zone).

Usage scenarios
Real-time fleet supervision
The fleet manager opens the map: 2 vehicles moving (green), 1 stopped (orange). They click on 123 TUN 4567 to see its precise position and its trip for the day.
Responding to an anomaly
A vehicle moves off-route at night. After verification, the authorized profile triggers the remote shutdown of the engine and alerts security.
FAQ & Tips
The vehicle does not appear on the map?
Check the GPS option and the Unit ID on the vehicle record. Without a hardware unit, there is no geolocation.
The position is frozen or missing?
The GPS unit may have lost signal (tunnel, dead zone, vehicle off). The position updates as soon as coverage resumes.
Tip — cross-check GPS and routes
Compare the trip history against planned routes to optimize circuits and detect discrepancies.
